A perpetually itchy, awkward, messy lesbian lady with a wife, a dog named Coco and a cat named Chicken.
I am a survivor of narcissistic abuse and emotional neglect living with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and anxiety. Currently, I am three years alcohol free, and four years drug free. Part of my journey has been about reparenting myself, learning to self soothe, and piecing together my identity.
In 2018, I left the film and television industry after nearly a decade of work and went back to school. This Spring, I graduated from the Assaulted Women and Children's Counsellor/Advocate program at George Brown college with Honours and the Faculty Award. During my time in school, I completed placements with Times Change, a women's employment service and Stella's Place, a youth mental health organization. It was here that I discovered the wonders of peer support. Soon, I began working for Stella's Place providing virtual peer support. Here I received my peer support training.
Additionally, I have experience both trained and lived with ambiguous grief and non death loss, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, harm reduction and sobriety recovery, trauma and consent informed support, and creating accessible documents, environments and training materials. My work is queer, trans*, mad, fat, and disability friendly and uses an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, intersectional lens.
My professional and personal development go hand in hand and are always expanding and growing. If you feel we would make a good team or have any questions at all, please contact me!
